Troop Eagle Project Review Process

Step One:
Review the Council Eagle Page linked above.  Download the Eagle Scout Project Workbook and read every page, paying close attention to the opening pages and "Project Proposal" section.

Step Two:
Contact Dr. Y, our Life to Eagle Guide, as he will help form and clarify your ideas.

Step Three:
When your proposal is ready, you will need to get approval signatures.

a) Secure the approval signature from your beneficiary representative*.
b) Meet with and formally present your proposal to receive approval signatures from Mr. Zangara and Mr. Pilgrim.

  • This presentation will be made to the Troop Committee during their regular monthly meeting (usually the first Monday of each month).

  • Email Mr. Pilgrim at brian.pilgrim@live.com to request being added to the Committee Meeting agenda.

Step Four:
Present your project to gain approval and signature from the Hornets Nest District Eagle Project Review Committee.  To request the meeting, follow the process outlined on the Council Eagle page, or, click here:

*Key Note Regarding CMS:
Due to overburdensome bureaucracy, Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools (CMS) is not permitted to be an Eagle Project beneficiary.  We realize this may be disappointing as you may see a need and wish to fulfill it.  If you would like to see the process change, reach out to CMS senior administration.  Until then...no CMS projects.
