Lets Join Troop 58!
STEP 1
Registration and Dues
Registration for first-time scouts requires two steps:
1) First, you register with the National BSA organization to get your scout into the system (they charge a $150 registration fee).
2) Then you register with Troop 58 so we have all your info ($170 dues for the year).
This double registration is only for the first year! Once you are in the system, you will renew only with Troop 58 and will only have one registration fee.
STEP 2
BSA Health Forms

Completed forms A & B from link above.

Photocopy of your scout’s health insurance card (front and back).

Vaccination section filled out w/ copy of vaccination record (or letter attesting no vaccinations).

Return all the Health Documents together, stapled if possible.
Part C is only needed if going to summer camp! (requires doctor's appointment)
STEP 3
Behavior & Discipline Policy
It is important to sit with your scout and review the behavior contract & discipline policy with them. This will be an annual attestation. Please print this form, sign and have your scout return it to the troop.
Mr. Kunz will discuss the Behavior & Discipline Policy with Scouts and Parents at one of the early troop meetings.
Parent Pledge
It takes a lot to effectively run Troop 58. We have around 90 scouts and without volunteers we cannot offer a healthy and productive program. While Scouts BSA is led by the scouts, there is plenty of help needed by the parents and other family members. A small bit of support from you will help take pressure off of other leaders. Besides, it's a ton of fun!
STEP 4
Uniforms!

Full field uniform (Class-A): BSA Scout shirt, pants, belt, socks and optional hat

Uniform Patches: Unit Numbers "58", American Flag, World Crest and The Mecklenburg County Council shoulder patch.
